Dr. Shaunna Hamat was born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario. She was an avid competitive dancer as well as acted professionally in both movies and television. While attending the University of Western Ontario, she studied psychology and received an honours bachelor of Science degree. While there, she developed her passion for patient care, including volunteering on an ambulance in Israel and working as a lifeguard in Toronto. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Western University, receiving the Canadian Academy of Periodontology Award.

Dr. Hamat enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and loves treating patients of all ages. She strives to ensure her patients are comfortable during appointments and believes all treatment should be individualized for every patient’s needs and concerns.  Dr. Hamat continues to dedicate herself to continuing dental education and is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association as well as the Academy of General Dentistry. 

When Dr. Hamat is not working, she is spending time with her family and friends. She loves travelling, going rock climbing and learning how to cook.
