Dr. Sook-Yee Chan graduated in 1994, from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, with honours. Dr. Chan is an active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association as well as the Aurora Dental Study Club and the York Region Dental Study Club. For more than 20 years, Dr. Chan has worked in many different dental clinics in the GTA, even though she has never opened her own dental office. She cherishes the people, both patients and staff, she has met over the years. She has also done clinical teachings in the department of Oral Radiology, Oral Diagnosis, and Emergency at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry for several years.
Dr. Chan enjoys working with patients of all ages. She has specialized training in oral sedation and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and is able to put most apprehensive patients at ease. She is experienced in most aspects of dentistry, including root canal therapy, children and family dentistry, oral surgery, and implant dentistry. She also has experience with the “braceless” orthodontic system, Invisalign.
A true believer of balance between work and home, Dr. Chan loves spending time with her family and her many cats. She also volunteers occasionally with animal welfare groups and enjoys promoting healthy living, in particular a plant based lifestyle.
